2. More and more people are starting to "farm" fish but people who oppose this say it is unnatural because of the artificial food and living conditions. Though it does help restore jobs back to the community. What side of the debate are you on?

-Mr. Charalambous

April 14

Your presentations and your write ups are due tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing them!

-Mr. C

April 10

For those of you looking for the write up criteria, it's as follows: explain your event. What are the causes of the disaster? What are the consequences on the environment and the world around us? What can we do to prevent these disasters from happening?

-Mr. C

April 4

You must...
  • have to describe the phenomenon
    • it's causes
    • it's impact
    • it's devastating effect on people and how they respond to these catastrophes
  • they need to create an engaging report that uses the appropriate media forms for a newscast (anchorman, expert (e.g., meteorologist), witnesses, on-site reporter that is appropriate for their audience (adult viewers)
  • they need to individually write up a paragraph that sums up what they've learned about their event and its causes & consequences

December 10

So this coming Thursday will be our test for BNA. We had a good review period today. -Mr. Charalambous

December 5

This is just a friendly reminder that your assignment is due next Thursday, December the 12th. We'll be having a unit test the following Tuesday so ensure that you are prepared!

-Mr. Charalambous

So as you start thinking about your memory box, remember the criteria that we discussed in class. You need to have six artifacts at bare minimum accompanied by an analysis of your artifact. It's not enough to tell me what it is but you need to tell me why you chose it, how it relates to Canadian history and what is its significance.

-Mr. Charalambous

November 26

Complete question 1 on the War of 1812. Next class we'll be talking about our upcoming assignment.

-Mr. Charalambous

November 11

Don't forget that questions 1 & 2 on the Fall of New France are due for tomorrow.

-Mr. Charalambous

October 25

I know I mentioned that some of those readings are a bit difficult to read on that website so keep your eye out on Drop Box where I'll be posting some of the "translated" versions in our history folder. We'll continue with this task next week.

Mr. C

For next class you'll have to have that graphic organizer completed. You goal is to decide whether or not your "immigrant" will stay in France or leave to head out to New France. Remember to think about the pros and cons for each subject area, e.g., food, job opportunities...etc.

By next week you'll have to have made that decision!

-Mr. Charalambous

Answer questions 1-2 that Mrs. Berk handed out today. We'll take them up next class.

-Mr. C
